Los Angeles-based studio Ensso has designed an all-in-one fountain pen with scale ruler for architects and engineers. Launched on Kickstarter, the Escala pen has a long, triangular cap that doubles as a scale ruler graded with imperial and metric scales. Italian architect and designer Alessandro Mendini, famed for designs including the Proust armchair and the Groninger Museum, has passed away aged 87. A key figure in the radical design movement of the 1960s, as well as the postmodern movement that followed, Mendini produced influential works of architecture, interior design, furniture and lighting through his 60-year career. Returning to the London Fashion Week catwalk after two years of digital presentations, Westwood sent models down the catwalk wearing aprons and tabards with anti-consumerist and climate change slogans.
